Beginning Foundation Paper Piecing

In this class, students will learn the basics of Foundation Paper Piecing.

Foundation Paper Piecing (or FPP) is a technique used to achieve great precision with particular shapes or images using paper as a foundation. The student literally sews on the paper while piecing fabric, to achieve desired result.

In this class, Cami will show you how to prep the pattern, choose fabrics, the value of fussy cutting, and will share ideas on how to use your finished blocks in a project.
The featured block that we will be learning with is called "Tall Tales" by Kate Basti, with her permission.  The block looks like a standing book and the fun possibilities for fabric choices is endless.

FPP is a lot of fun and easy to learn with a little help from your instructor.

Cami Stringham has been quilting for 8+ years. I   She has used Foundation Paper Piecing for many of her favorite projects. She loves scrappy projects that can use up every tiny bit of fabric. She has worked at the Quilter's Lodge for three years and has taught several quilting classes.

Fabric favorites include Alison Glass, Ruby Star Society, and Jen Kingwell and quirky low volume prints.
