Z - Sew Your Own Clothes: Customizing Patterns {Part 2 Scout Tee Class}

This class is all about pattern hacks! Take one pattern and learn how to customize it in several different ways to get a huge variety of garments to build your handmade wardrobe.

One of the best things about sewing your own wardrobe is making clothes that look and fit however you want! We’ll be taking the Scout Tee by Grainline Studio that we made in our part one class (don’t worry! If you didn’t take part one, you can still take part two!) and I’ll show you how to create a variety of different looks all with the same pattern.

I’ve hacked the Scout Tee pattern so many times and will provide you with a packet of detailed instructions of how to create eight different variations of this great pattern. Learn to make a Scout Dress, add a Peter Pan collar or cute ruffles, make it tunic length, long sleeves, and more! By mixing and matching elements, you can create tons of different garments.

In our class, we’ll be choosing one variation to make (your choice!) but you’ll go home with the information you need to sew all the pattern hacks yourself.
Level: Confident Beginner! You don’t need to have sewn any clothing before, but it’s probably best if you know your sewing basics. If you have not sewn a Scout Tee before, or didn’t take my first class, that’s okay! You can still come and learn how to make this fabulous top. If you’re a more experienced sewer, this is a great way to learn how to add lots of fun elements to handmade clothing.

See you Soon,
Vienna

Biography, Vienna Goates
I learned to sew just six years ago, after I had graduated from college and needed a creative outlet.  It was an uphill battle for me (I quickly became very good friends with my seam ripper!) but I’ve sewn almost every day since then. I first got in to apparel sewing because I wanted to wear beautiful fabrics in unique prints and I never could find clothes that reflected my individuality or that fit me and made me feel good about myself. Sewing one’s own clothing is empowering, fulfilling, and downright rad.
