Introduction to Beginning Quilting

Tara Learned will teach you how to make your first quilt with this simple big block in a 3-session class

Comprehensive Beginning Quilting

The first part of the first class in this comprehensive course teaches you about fabric, color and value in a quilt.  You immediately use that information as the class goes into the store and with the guidance of the teacher and the Lodge staff you choose your own fabric for your quilt.  You learn rotary cutting skills, squaring up your fabric, pressing vs ironing, six different blocks in two different colors, sashing, borders and binding and much more.

The unique approach of choosing your own fabric makes this class a must do for any quilter wanting to gain confidence with color as well as improving your basic quilting skills.  This class is a 7-week course taught by Mary Cowan.

Bring your choice of project, sewing machine and lunch to create in our Grand Classroom every second Friday 5:00 p.m. until midnight and every fourth Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  There will be a staff member in the classroom, who will be happy to help you with any technique or any notion. Bring a friend or come alone to spend an evening or day working on any WIP (work-in-progress) you've got. This is a recurring class available to sign up for any session.
