Get into the mysterious spirit this Fall with Kristin Barrus! Have you ever wanted to make a quilt you've never seen? Kristin will introduce 11 blocks over a three day period, unraveling not only a unique quilt of her own design, but teaching techniques and educating about artists in the industry AND adding to a list of suspects in the Mystery of the Missing Sewing Mojo. This retreat is October 11-13.
Join us for a spooky evening sharing fabric and making the Mini Pumpkin runner by Cluck Cluck Sew. This class is taught by Mary Cowan October 4 from 6pm until 8pm.
Our ever popular One Block Wonder class is back. Use six yards of saturated fabric to make these hexagon wonders. This is a 2-part class taught by Cindy Haddick September 27 & October 25 from 5:30pm until 8pm.
A fun introduction to the popular English Paper Piecing method. This is a one-time class taught by Heather Spurlock September 27 from 10am until 1pm.
It's finally time to learn how to paper piece. And Violet Craft's Love, Hoppington is the perfect project over this 2-session class. This class is taught by Tara Leanred October 2 & 9 from 10am until 12:30pm.
Take a basic shirt and create a fun usable apron with Rae Ann Nilson October 3 from 10am until 2pm.
A free monthly book group for anyone who would like to read and share on a variety of genres including novels, non-fiction and art history relating to quilts. The discussion is moderated by Kristin Barrus every first Thursday from 6:30pm until 8pm, beginning October 4th.
Assemble your very own Maxwell Bag in this day-long class taught by Cindy Haddick October 13th from 10am until 5pm.
After all the careful work of making a quilt, why not finish it off like a pro? Learn on a simple mini quilt provided and raise your confidence in binding. This class is taught by Tara Leanred October 23 from 10am until 12pm.
Learn how to make your first quilt with this simple Big Block in a 3-session class. Tara Leanred will teach Big Block Beginning Patchwork November 6, 13 & 27 from 10am until 12:30pm.
This comprehensive course will take its students from the process of selecting fabric for your next quilt, to the instruction of how to bind the quilt. We will discuss sewing machines, tools, notions, rotary cutting skills, fabric and color placement, how color choices effect the design, sashing, binding, half square triangles, squaring up, and much more. This class is a 7-week course taught by Mary Cowan, beginning September 11 from 6pm until 8pm.
Bring your choice of project, sewing machine and lunch to create in our Grand Classroom every fourth Monday from 10:00am until 3:00pm and every second Friday 5:00pm until midnight with Heather Spurlock, who will be happy to help you with any technique or any notion. Bring a friend or come alone to spend a day or evening working on any WIP (work-in-progress) you've got. This is a recurring class available to jump in any class time.
Please join us for our new Jen Kingwell Club! This group is for anyone who loves the patterns of Jen Kingwell, whether you have sewn one of them or not. Our 2018 class is already underway, but space is still available if you'd like to join the fun. Kristin Barrus gives hints and tips on both the Golden Days and Bakers Dozen patterns. The class runs April 2018-April 2019.
